Biography
Meet Shannon Gibson. Her areas of practice include Family Law, General Civil Litigation, Personal Injury, Probate, Partition, and Wills. In addition, Shannon has significant experience in federal courts. Shannon had her own legal practice in Texas and was licensed in Texas in 1998. Though she is still actively registered as an attorney in Texas, she also plans to work in Colorado and was admitted to the Colorado bar in 2024. Shannon also has her license in the United States 5th Circuit’s Court of Appeals. Shannon is currently Pickard Law, P.C.’s only attorney with her license in Texas, and as such, is the firm’s counsel for clients with legal issues arising out of Texas.
Shannon went to Baylor University for both undergraduate and law school. In undergrad, Shannon majored in economics and obtained her B.B.A. in 1994. She received her juris doctorate in 1996 from Baylor University Law School. When she started, Shannon worked for the Texas Senate, the Texas Attorney General’s office, and eventually, a large litigation firm before she ran her own practice.
Shannon has significant trial experience and has taken over forty cases to trial in both state and federal court. She has experience managing a large, active litigation docket. In addition, she has successfully defended a variety of federal and state litigation matters that involved asbestos, pharmaceuticals, silica, product and premises liability, and Section 1983. After years of defending the State of Texas and different corporations, Shannon has recently decided to dedicate her time to helping individuals and to advocating for people. Shannon has worked on Colorado-specific cases since joining Pickard Law, P.C. in 2023 and plans to continue managing cases that are here in Colorado.
Shannon is passionate about women’s rights and workplace equality, and she plans to work with the Colorado legislature during her time to advocate for laws that protect victims. She would like to do civil rights work and put time into cases that deal with unlawful discrimination. Shannon is also passionate about justice and ensuring fair outcomes in the work she does. Shannon enjoys working with people and being in the courtroom as a zealous advocate. She is also passionate about making a difference as an attorney in the State of Colorado and throughout her local comunity.
She loves to go camping with her husband and her four dogs. She is also a personal trainer, working with people weekly in her spare time. Shannon is a voracious reader, constantly reading something new. In sum, Shannon is a passionate advocate who is tenacious and pragmatic in all of the litigation in which she is involved.
